Happy Birthday Caleb

Today is our nephew Caleb's first bday. We went to Freestone Park for his party on Sunday evening. The kids all had a blast on the rides. Caleb is getting so big and he looks adorable walking around. This is the only picture I got of him and his cake before my camera went dead.

Jonah loved all the rides. He kept trying to stand up when they were on the train. Originally Leanna had him and Caleb with her but Jonah was a little to much to handle so Joe went and bought a ticket and went on with him. Later in the evening he went again and this time he sat with his cousin Amara and I really thought he was going to try and climb out when the train was going. Luckily he settled down and was a good boy!

His favorite ride was the wave runners. I thought he was going to freak out when the ride started going but I think this picture shows exactly how much he loved it. He was pretty upset when the ride was over. I can't wait to take him to Disneyland in a couple weeks, he is going to LOVE all the rides. Below is a very short video of him on the ride.

Happy Fathers Day

We had a very funny and busy Fathers day yesterday. We started off the morning at church where for the first time in who knows how long Jonah didn't flip out when we left him the nursery at church. Usually he starts crying when we pull in to the parking lot at church and he see's where he is at. Yesterday though he got out of the car and started walking towards his class. The whole time Joe and I were waiting for him to run back to me and start crying. I thought for sure he would once we got in to the room where we sign him in. But he just ran in and was trying to get this little door they have for the kids to walk behind the sign in counter to get their classes. Once we opened the door he just ran in straight to his class and never even looked back. It was great to be able to sit through church and not feel guilty for leaving him in there. After church we went over to my grandma's house and had lunch with my family and then headed over to my in laws for swimming and BBQ.

Jonah had fun playing in the play pool for a while, but he prefers to be in the big pool.

Both Sue and I took Jonah swimming. None of the other kids were there yet, so it was just the three of us in the pool. Let me tell you that kid can wear two adults out taking him swimming. He is way to brave around the water, he was jumping in off the steps. He doesn't want you to hold him in the water, he thinks that he can swim by himself. He constantly tries to get out of your arms and will just wiggle and squirm. He is also the only "baby" I know that actually wants to put his head under water, and will try to do that the entire time he is in the pool. He loves to be in the pool though so it is hard to not take him in. I guess next summer will be better since his tubes will be out and I can teach him to swim and not have to worry about the water getting in his ears.

He was so worn out on the way home that he just crashed out about two seconds after we got in the car. He had a nice hour nap on the way home and it was like 5:30 so it was a lot of fun getting him to go to bed last night.

And this is how Joe spent the afternoon on the patio while we were swimming. Hope he had a great Fathers Day!

Falling

Tonight I was leaving to go get Joe and get some dinner. Well when I was locking the front door Jonah walked over to the top of the stairs like he always does and I told him too wait. Of course he didn't wait and he took a step off and started to fall. I caught up to him about half way down. I screamed so loud the neighbor downstairs came out and I told him what happened and nice guy that he is just said "oh, you scared me" and went back inside. Jerk

My poor baby is all scraped up (these pictures don't do it justice). I think it scared him more then hurt him. He just cried for a few minutes and he was fine. But then he saw me crying so he started again. It scared me so bad, the second he started to fall I just had horrible thoughts of what was going to happen. Those stairs are pretty steep and they are all concrete with rocks in it which makes it rough. Thnakfully God was watching out for him.

This is about 45 minutes later. The rest of the night he was in a great mood so apparently it didn't faze him to bad.

Ahh, poor sweet baby. His eye lid is all swollen and he has scrapes all in his hair line and a pretty deep cut on his leg.

Cars

Its funny to me how ALL little boys LOVE cars and trucks and really anything that has wheels. Jonah will just lay on the ground and slowly move a car back and forth in front of him. He also will put all of his cars up on the couch with him and sit there and watch TV.

When he is done watching TV he will take his cars all over to the table and sit there and play with them. He will also drag every single one of them in to the bathroom to play with when I am getting ready in the morning. He also has a little John Deere tractor that has a trailer it pulls and he will put his snacks in the trailer and push it around and stop every few minutes to eat. Cracks me up!

Trying to eat the camera!

Little Sweetie

Jonah has been such a sweet heart the past couple weeks. Last week he was walking around the house with his pacifier in his mouth (I really want to get rid of it by his birthday) and I asked him for his binky. He shook his head no and ran off and when he came back a few minutes later he brought me back another pacifier. He thought I just wanted to suck on one to. That same day I took his shoes off of him and told him to put them in his closet. He kind of looked at me like "what are you talking about". But he took the shoes from me and ran off. Later on I went to look for them expecting to find them in the hallway or something but he had actually put them away in his closet. Not only did he do that but he also picked up the rest of his shoes and put them away to. I was pretty surprised that at 21 months he actually got that concept. I have been training him when I change his clothes that he has to put them in his laundry hamper, so that probably helps a bit.

Yesterday I took Jonah to see his grandma and grandpa and he was excited to find almost all his cousins there. He loves to "play" with Aiden, which usually consists of him following Aiden around all over.

Jonah's grandpa was teaching him how to speed when they were playing cars last night.
