Ten Months

Jonah is now 10 months old as of yesterday, I didn't get around to posting anything because we were a little tied up all day. This month has been a big one for Jonah , he had his first plane flight, learned the army crawl, has started putting together sounds and repeats them on a consistant basis, and as of tonight at bed time he has figured out how to go from laying down to sitting up. Which means tomorrow we have to lower the mattress on his bed because once he is sitting up if there is something to grab on to he can pull himself up to stand. So tonight since we didn't want to tackle his crib he will be sleeping in our bed (I think he planned it this way). I can't believe how big he is getting and that he is almost one. Joe weighed him on our scale the other night and he was 28.8 pounds. He has the cutest "little" thunder thighs I have ever seen and loves for them to be tickled. He is such a happy baby the majority of the time. The only time he is cranky is when he is very hungry or very tired (I wonder where he gets that from, lol). My favorite time of the day is when I get off work and come home and the second he see's me he starts jumping in his saucer and laughing. It is the cutest thing ever.

He doesn't have any teeth yet and I was about to start calling him the toothless wonder but as you can tell by the picture above that that is changing very soon. As of today we can feel one of his bottom ones almost breaking through his gums. He has been a little more fussy then normal but not bad and he has not been running a fever or anything.

I just had to throw this picture in here because it was to cute to pass up. I walked in my room the other day and this is how he had fallen asleep. It looks like he just scored a touchdown.

And the reason we were so busy yesterday is that my sister in law went in to labor and so we went to the hospital with her at about one in the afternoon and finally we had to leave at about nine and she still hadn't had the baby. She ended up having him at I think 12:35am and he was 7 pounds 5 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long and his name is Caleb. I don't have any pictures of him yet but we are going back up there tomorrow to see him so I will get some then. ANyways congrats Leanna.

Comfy????

This is what I found when I got home from work today. How can you sleep like that, it looks so uncomfortable. And he just looks so big in there. Oh well at least he is taking a nap, which we have been having issues with lately.

Oh No....

It has started. I shouldn't be surprised since he is almost 10 months old but while we were on vacation Jonah became mobile. He has started scooting around like a mad man and is trying to pull himself up on things. Here are a few pictures of him at my grandma's yesterday trying to pull himself up on the coffee table:

I looked down on the floor and saw him laying under the coffee table staring at me. It was so cute.

He got tired from trying to pull up his chubby body.

Hanging with his grandpa. He was fascinated with the beard.

And lastly this is how happy he was when he woke up this morning.

Illinois

This past week we went on vacation with Joe's family to Southern Illinois to visit his grandparents and have a campout with his whole family for fathers day. We had so much fun the whole week, unfortunatly I didn't take any pictures when we were camping but here are a few from the rest of the week.

Jonah on the plane to Tulsa, he loved it and thought he was so cool. When we left Phoenix he sat on my lap and stared out the window for about 20 minutes until he feel asleep. He stayed sleeping for about 45 minutes and the rest of the time he was awesome. On the plane from Tulsa to St. Louis he fell back asleep as the plane was headed out to the runway and woke up about 10 minutes before we landed. I was so stressed for weeks about the flight with him, I didn't want him to be one of those screaming kids on the plane that everyone hates. Luckily he loved it. On the way home he fell asleep as we were taking off and didn't wake up until we pulled up to the gate in Phoenix.

We decided not to go with Joe's sisters family to see the arch in St. Louis because we have both been before and Jonah wouldn't remember it anyways. Plus it was so freakin hot and humid and we sat on the shuttle to get our rental car for half and hour with a ton of people and no ac. Needless to say we were not in the mood to do any out door activities, so here is the picture I got of it from the car on our way out of town.

The second day we were there it poured in the morning which cooled things of considerably. This is a picture of Joe's grandparents farm from their front porch. It was so beautiful there, I would love to live there if it weren't for the bugs and ticks and humidity.

While we were camping everyone decided to go to a near by lake and go swimming. We didn't bring out bathing suits out there so we only put our feet but it felt so nice. Jonah loved the water and when we were done he had sand all over himself including his face.

On Sunday we went to Garden of the Gods and it was gorgeous and had veiws for miles. All the kids had a ton of fun climbing on all the rocks while the parents and grandparents had heartattacks. Here is a picture of Joe up on one of the rocks.

If you click on this picture to enlarge it you will see Jonah and Joe up in the shadows.

Here is a close up of them in the same place. Jonah though he was cool up there with the big kids.

Jonah with his grandpa with the beautiful view in the background.

The whole family minus Sue. I have a picture that is slighty closer up but you can't see how high up we are in it.

Grandma and Grandpa with all the grandkids. Jonah is freaking out because his grandpa almost dropped him on his face and he felt he was trying to make him feel guilty about it. All weekend he kept sliding off peoples laps like he was going to get down and run away like a big kid. And Joe's grandma was talking and forgot who she was holding and let go so he could walk away and he landed flat on his face. And the he did it to Joe's dad and he had one hand in his pocket hand Jonah fell but didn't hit the ground that time. He started screaming and when I picked him up he proceeded to give his grandpa the nastiest look. I felt bad for them both they felt so bad but it could have happened to anyone. I think Jonah saw all the older kids running around and thought he could do the same.

Here we are with all the kids back at the farm being pulled by Joe on the quad. They had so much fun on this.

Jonah thinking he is driving the quad with his daddy.

On Tuesday before we left Joe took me out on the quad to show me his grandpas property. Here are the horses out in the pasture.

Here one of the ponds on the property.

So thanks to Joe's parents for the trip, we had so much fun and we really appreciate it.

Flagstaff

So went to Flagstaff on Monday and Tuesday. My friend Lisa just moved up there so we went to visit her and my friend Jenn met us there. We had tons of fun hanging out though I am sure that Joe would disagree since he was the only guy there. I am so sad that we had to leave so soon, it was beautiful up there. It was so nice to be able to sleep with the windows open and to be able to walk around outside in June and not die from heat stroke. Oh well hopefully we will be up there soon permanently. Well we are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning to fly to Illinois for the week so I will update when we get back.

Go ME!!!!!

So I decided to be slightly domestic today and I made these awesome chocolate chip cookies. Yummy!!! Actually I think it was just a diversion to cleaning the house, making an actual dinner, and doing laundry to pack for our vacation next week, but whatever!

Jonah has been slightly ornery lately as you can tell by the following pictures:

And any ideas of what I can do to tame his hairwould be helpful. I was thinking about buzzing it but no one really liked that idea. I just sticks straight up on the top and the only way I can get it to look half way decent is to give him a fauxhawk!

Happy Birthday Ashton

So this weekend was Ashton's first birthday so we headed back out to California for his party. He is such a cute little guy and I can't believe that he is already one, it's crazy how fast it goes by. They had his birthday party on Saturday which was a lot of fun for the adults (aren't first birthdays always like that though) and then on Sunday we went to Tyler's parents and took the boys swimming. Tyler's parents have a really nice pool/spa and a beautiful backyard and they had the pool and the spa all nice and warm for us (just like I like it). The spa felt so hot when we got in but the temp was reading 99 degrees so we figured it was just because we had just got in it from the pool but it turned out the thermometer was broken and it was actually 110 degrees. I am suprised that neither of the boys complained when we put them in it. So we had to flush out the spa with a little cold water to bring it down to under 100 so it was safe for the babies. It was Jonah's first time swimming and he LOVED it. Unfortunatly I didn't get any pictures but if you check Mary's blog she has a ton of great pictures from the weekend including one of Jonah lounging on me in the spa that is pretty cute.

Jonah loved this Little Tikes car. We thought when we put him in it that it would occupy him for a few minutes but he stayed in it for a long time just spinning the wheel and making "car" noises.

He was so tired from not taking a nap so I put him in Ashton's new swing and he fell asleep in like two minutes and stayed there for over an hour.

He had his nine month check up on Monday and he is weighing in at 27 pounds 4 oz and is 32 1/2 inches long. He also has another ear infection in both ears and he had to get his MMR a few months early because there is a measles outbreak in Florence so they are giving it to all the babies early. So on top of the ear infection he has been running a fever (which got up to 103.4 last night) for the past few days and has been very fussy. On the bright side he has been sleeping straight through until like 8:30 in the morning and sometimes going back to sleep until like 10:00.

Jenn, Lisa, Me, and Lyndsay

(I can't believe I am putting a picture of my fat butt up here. don't get used to it cuz it won't happen again for quite awhile)

Lastly my good friend Jenn is in town for the month of June from New York so last night we all went out to Cheesecake Factory and to see a movie. It was nice to get out by myself for a little while and to see my friends. Lisa just moved to Flagstaff a couple weeks ago so it was good to be able to her to. My friends need to stop moving away, oh well we may be moving soon also :)
