Kayden Taylor

I got a phone call from Rachael this morning at about 7:45am that she was in labor and for me to head up there. When she got to the hospital she was 5.5cm dilated and she stayed that way for about 4 to 5 hours. They broke her water at 12:30 and things really picked up from there. She started pushing at 3:07 and he was born at 3:32pm. She had to get an epidural because she was having some issues with high blood pressure and it was affecting her liver and they didn't want to stress out her body. Unfortunately her epidural wore off when she was about 9cm so she felt the last 45 minutes. Rachael only pushed 5 times and had him out in 25 minutes. They had to use the vacuum for the last two pushes because his heart rate was dropping really low and they wanted to hurry and get him out.

Kayden still in mommy's belly!

Fresh out of the oven! (Don't kill me for posting a picture of you Rachael)

One of the few PG shots that we got just for blogging and Facebook, lol!

Fun stuff!!!

It was such an awesome experience to be able to be in the room and help deliver Kayden. I got to see him in his first seconds in this world and I can't even put into words how it felt. I feel so blessed that I was included in the experience. Rachael did an awesome job and never complained about the pain once. She was feeling a lot better when we left the hospital tonight and Kayden is doing so great for being early. I wish I didn't have to wait a whole week to go up and see him again.

Very cool. I know what you mean about how awesome it is to see and be a part of a new beginning. I got to see Justin and Amara being born. Maybe I'll get to help with my next grandaughter.....hint, hint. Tell Joe I need him to finish his Washington speech and email me a copy. I got an email from Di and I would like to respond to it. Tell Rachael I said Congratulations and tell Dum Dum Dottie that we were right. It pays to get old. I love you, give Jonah a big kiss from grandma.
