Backwards

Jonah started scooting a few weeks ago. At first he would just move around in a circle but now he gets up on his knees and then pushes back with his arms and scoots himself backwards. It's kinda funny and he is pretty proud of himself when he does it. I am not sure I am ready for him to crawl yet. I look forward to him learning new things but he is already trying to get into everything. I can't imagine how bad it will be once he can actually get himself to stuff.

He also had his first ear infection this week. The only reason we even knew he had one was he kept rubbing his ear. He didn't have a fever and he wasn't whiny. He is such a good baby.

Dinner

I think that Jonah had ADD, either that or he hates baby food. I know its not all food he hates because he constantly wants what ever we are eating and always wants a taste of our soda. But when it comes time to eat his own food this is what I am faced with:

And this:

And this:

And this (he is obsessed with lights):

I would like a little more of this (he wants to eat the camera and not his food):

And definitely less of this:

At least I was rewarded with this afterwards:

Happy Birthday Aiden

Thank you everyone for your prayers for Jonah, we really appreciate it. His doctors appointment went really well yesterday. Basically the doctor said that yes Jonah has a big head but it is proportional to his body. The concern that they had was that the ventricles were to big and could cause his body to produce to much cerebrospinal fluid and if his body didn't absorb it all it would cause hydrocephalus. But he didn't have any signs of that and since he is developmentally in the right place for his age the doctor said he wasn't to worried about it. He will have to go back in about 3 to 4 months to have an MRI done to make sure the ventricles haven't gotten any bigger. And they will continue to monitor him for a little while after that to make sure he is doing good. And on a slightly funny note, Joe set the clinic record for the largest head of a patients parent.

Last night was our nephew Aiden's 2nd birthday party. Though there was a slight miss hap with a plane launcher and someones man parts, we had alot of fun. So Happy bday Aiden.

Jonah was so tired by the end of the night that he fell asleep on his grandpa. I love this picture, it is so sweet.

Results

Jonah had his CT scan yesterday and his doctor called me this morning and told me that they got the results back. We have to go see a neurosurgeon on Thursday morning to do some more tests because the ventricles in his brain are a little large. His doctor didn't think there was a problem because Joe's head is so large but he just wanted to get it checked out. I am a little freaked out, I was horrible in biology so I am not even sure what this means but anything wrong with his brain is going to freak me out. I was expecting to get a call saying that he just had a large head so I was suprised when the doctors office called me and the nurse handed the phone to the doctor. So keep him in your prayers and I will update Thursday to let you know what happens.

Jonah was so good during the CT scan. We couldn't give him any food after two in the morning and his appt was at 8:00 am so I thought that he was going to be super cranky at the hospital. He was completely the opposite and was laughing and talking the whole time. When I laid him down on the table he just sucked on his pacifier and looked at me like what the heck. The only time he cried was when they put the wedges between his head and the head support on the table and when they straped his head down. As soon as he found something to look at he stopped cying. The tech doing the scan was very suprised at how well he did. I really wanted to take a picture of him all wrapped up like a burrito and strapped down but I didn't. I was so proud of him and how well behaved he was during the whole thing. I love this happy little guy.

Yesterday Jonah was playing with his cousin Amara and we had to get a picture of how big he is. Amara will be five next month and Jonah looks so big on her lap.

Sit

Jonah has been trying to sit on his own for a while but he finally got the hang of it last night. I had set him on the floor while I made him a bottle before bed and he stayed sitting there for at least 5 minutes just playing with his toys. He was pretty proud of himself.

Here is the video that I tryed to put on the previous post. Anytime there is a blanket around he will try to play peek a boo with you. He thinks that it is the funniest thing.

Poor Baby

Yesterday I put Jonah down for a nap in our bed and like 15 minutes later I could hear him in there talking still. So I went in to check on him the second he saw me walk in the room he started playing peek a boo with me. I have a really cute video of it but blogger is retarded and won't upload it so maybe in the next few days I will have a chance to put it on here.

Today when I put him down for a nap Joe was still in bed because he wasn't feeling good, so I put Jonah down with his pacifier and left the room. Well again I hear him talking but I figured Joe was in there so I waited a little longer then normal to go in and check on him. Well just as I was getting walking to our room to check on him I heard a loud thump and then a scream. I go in the bedroom and Joe is in a daze holding Jonah who woke him up by rolling off the bed(he hadn't even realized that I had put Jonah in there because he was in such a deep sleep). Jonah is such a trooper he just cryed for a few seconds and then cuddled with me and was laughing within a few minutes. So I guess from now on his is just sleeping in his bed.

These two pictures don't really have anything to do with anything but they are funny to me because everytime we pull out the camera he squints his eyes like this because he knows that the flash is coming. It cracks me up everytime.

Don't Ask

So this is how Joe dressed Jonah to go out in public today:

This was actually the second outfit which is not nearly as bad as the first one. I came home for a few minutes this morning and Joe had those shorts on him with this shirt:

Notice how dirty it is since he spit up all over it this morning before I left for work. He took him out in this to. There is nothing wrong with the first shirt it just doesn't match those horrible shorts (even though you bought them Jennifer I know you agree :) that are way to small on his chubby little legs and have palm trees all over them and look a little old manish. I can't believe he took him out like that!

Also he had his first doctors appointment yesterday and they said that everything looked fine and he is still 30 inches and weighs 24 pound 10 oz.
