Six Months

I can't believe Jonah is already six months, the boy is huge to say the least. He is already wearing 12-18 month cloths. I almost can't wait till he can walk so that I don't have to lug him around everywhere. He has the sweetest personality, he loves to give "kisses" and to be hugged and held. He is such a little cuddle bunny, I love it.

He is starting to sit up for about 15-20 seconds now before he falls over or leans forward and does a nose plant on the floor. He hasn't been to keen on baby food lately but he wants to eat what ever we are eating. We usually give him a little taste of things just to see his reaction and he always trys to get us to give him more. It's so sad the whole time we are eating he just stares at us with these sad puppy dog eyes. His hair is finally starting to grow (into a curly fro), I can't really tell what color it really is, out in the sun it looks really blond but when we are inside and when we take pictures of him his hair looks really dark, so that is a little weird. Anyway, we love him to death he is such a sweet easy going baby (except after 7:00pm) and we wouldn't trade him for anything.

Little Flirt

My friend Rachael was in town from Nebraska this week so a bunch of us met at the Cheesecake Factory in Mesa for dinner. It was so nice to see her again and to see her daughter Cadence who was only three months last time and is now almost 18 months. I didn't get any pictures of all of us because both the babys were a little cranky. Jonah kept trying to touch her and grab at her things but she wasn't having any of it and would scream at him which in turn set Jonah off. It was kinda funny, he just kept trying to stroke her arm (I think he liked her) and she would get all freaked out.

He was also as big as her which is pretty sad considering they are almost exactly a year apart. I think this was the last picture of the night and both of them had had it.

Then we went to visit our friend Lyndsay who just had her third girl on Monday, her name is Isabelle and she was 7 pounds 3 oz and 20 inches long. She is so cute and so tiny, she looked like a little doll all bundled up. We could never get Jonah to stay like that for longer then 2 minutes.

I had to post this picture because it was so funny. I went into the kitchen to grab something and when I came back I found him like this. He wasn't crying or anything, just waiting for someone to help him.

Good Night! Or Not!

Don't let this sweet face fool you because he has been an absolute BUTT lately about going to bed at night. I really don't think that 11:00pm is an appropriate bed time for an almost six month old. The past few weeks he has fought us tooth (well not really tooth because he doesn't have any yet, but you get my point) and nail about going to bed. We haven't changed anything in his routine so I really don't get what the problem is. Every night I give him his bottle around 8pm and he used to fall asleep in my arms and then I would put him in bed and there he would stay until about six in the morning. Now he will take his bottle and fall asleep in my arms and the second I lay him in bed he opens his eyes like he was fake sleeping the whole time and just smiles at me and starts talking to me. I have tryed everything from leaving him in bed to getting him out and giving him more to eat and rocking him but nothing works. He will just lay there in bed for hours before he falls asleep. I guess I should be happy that he isn't crying the whole time but it is starting to get a little old and I want to go to bed. At least once he is out he sleeps till morning, and he really is tired the whole time he just fights it. (Sorry the picture quality sucks but I took it with my cell phone and while I LOVE my Blackberry the camera on it is horrible.)

Torture

Growing up I tortured my younger sisters all the time. Between telling them Santa got burned up in our chimney, tying them to the basketball hoop, and locking them outside in the summer with a jar of peanut butter and some lemon juice to drink when I was supposed to babysit them, I am suprised that they don't hate me. But now I have a new way to pick on them and I don't even have to do anything at all.

This picture looks all sweet but he is really trying to pull her lip off, he just kept yanking on it.

I went with Rachael to McDonalds while I was watching my younger siblings for the day and Rach was holding Jonah and he grabbed on to her head band and kept yanking her head back and forth. This went on for like five minutes before she finally handed him back to me. So I guess now I can just hand Jonah to them and he will do all the work for me.

Tagged

Okay, Val tagged me last week so here are the rules:

1. Find the nearest book with at least 123 pages.

2. Find the 5th sentence

3. Then write the next 3 sentences.

Here it is:

He believed now that he was in love with Imogene. His self-deception created a tightness in his throat, a counterfeit of longing and desire.
Before the eleventh dance he was aware that some party was being organized from which he was purposely excluded.

This was from The Basil and Josephine Stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I am tagging my mom, Andrea, Mary and Suzanne. Lets see if any of them actually do this. :)

Rolling

Jonah finally started rolling over this week and now he won't stop. I put him in bed tonight and he wasn't totally asleep. Everytime I went over to his crib to check on him he was just looking around. He has been being a slight pain the butt to get to sleep this past week so I have just been letting him mess around in his crib and he usually falls asleep with minimal whining after about half an hour.

Well one of the times I went to check on him he had rolled over in his bed and was just staring up at me laughing. I proceeded to roll him back on his belly and pat him on the back a few times and then walked away. After that everytime I checked on him he had rolled over so finally I just left him that way and he finally fell asleep. So maybe he will start sleeping on his back now like he is supposed to.

Open Wide

Everyone is constantly telling me that Jonah looks exactly like Joe and that he is just like him when he was young. Well he definatly gets this from me and not Joe:

He is a total bed hog, he just sprawls out and hates to sleep on his back. We both sleep in this same position with our knee bent out. This drives Joe crazy because I am constantly telling him to scoot over when I am already sleeping in the middle of the bed. We need to upgrade to a king size, especially when Jonah is in bed with us one of us has to go sleep on the couch.

His new thing is whenever he sees his bottle or any food for that matter he opens his mouth really wide to get ready for it. It doesn't even have to be right in front of him. This afternoon I was in the kitchen making his bottle and he saw it and opened his mouth really wide until I brought it over to him.

He is also loving the tv, when he is in his jumper and we have the tv on he just stares at it. Like he really knows what is going on.
