Kayden Taylor

I got a phone call from Rachael this morning at about 7:45am that she was in labor and for me to head up there. When she got to the hospital she was 5.5cm dilated and she stayed that way for about 4 to 5 hours. They broke her water at 12:30 and things really picked up from there. She started pushing at 3:07 and he was born at 3:32pm. She had to get an epidural because she was having some issues with high blood pressure and it was affecting her liver and they didn't want to stress out her body. Unfortunately her epidural wore off when she was about 9cm so she felt the last 45 minutes. Rachael only pushed 5 times and had him out in 25 minutes. They had to use the vacuum for the last two pushes because his heart rate was dropping really low and they wanted to hurry and get him out.

Kayden still in mommy's belly!

Fresh out of the oven! (Don't kill me for posting a picture of you Rachael)

One of the few PG shots that we got just for blogging and Facebook, lol!

First family photo!

Sweet baby! Weighed in at 6 pounds 12 oz, 20 3/4 inches long, head cir. 13 inches. Born at 36 weeks and 5 days.

Grandma L holding Kayden for the first time. And in two short years this is what they turn into:

See food!

Fun stuff!!!

It was such an awesome experience to be able to be in the room and help deliver Kayden. I got to see him in his first seconds in this world and I can't even put into words how it felt. I feel so blessed that I was included in the experience. Rachael did an awesome job and never complained about the pain once. She was feeling a lot better when we left the hospital tonight and Kayden is doing so great for being early. I wish I didn't have to wait a whole week to go up and see him again.

Two Year Pictures

My sister Andrea and I took Jonah to the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert to do his pictures. Unfortunately it was 120 degrees (according to the thermometer in my car) outside so we were only there for about 10 minutes max. The pictures we got weren't the greatest (as you can tell from the picture above) because all Jonah wanted to do was run around. Anyway here are a few of them:

He looks a little evil in this picture.

Running around

This one is my favorite.

We put him on this rock and I felt it before I sat him down and it didn't feel that hot but apparently it was.

Definitely not happy about it. After this picture we went straight to lunch at Paradise which made everyone happy!!!

Also I forgot to put his stats on the last post but my giant baby is weighing in at 38 pounds and is 37 1/2 inches tall now!

Happy Birthday Jonah!!!

Okay, I guess I have procrastinated enough on this post. Last Saturday was Jonah's 2nd birthday. We had what turned in to a huge party for him. I guess with our family is would be huge no matter what. But we had a great time. At one point I thought Jonah was crying hysterically in the playroom so I went to see what was wrong and he was actually laughing at Beka pushing him on the roller coaster.

Does this child not have the most beautiful eyes. He gets away with sooo much with those things!

Balloons!

Yummy Cakes! (I am so proud of myself for remembering to take pictures of his cake this year)

Opening Presents. I swear he is the only kid who hates to open presents. It is such an ordeal with him. He was mad that we made him sit down and stop playing and then he opened his first present and just wanted to play with it and wanted nothing to do with the others.

He had to break in to the trains as soon as he opened them.

His favorite present is his train table. When he opened it he just sat there and stared at it. Hopefully his daddy can get it set up soon.

Enjoying his yummy cake and ice cream. I tell you this kid ate nothing but sugar all day long besides one piece of pizza and he was so well behaved. He didn't even nap during the day and he had no meltdowns until 9:00 that night. He is such a good boy.

He looks so cute in his pajamas that his old grandma got him (that's what my grandma calls her self)!

The day after his bday me and Andrea took him to take his two year old pictures, these are a few I got with my crappy camera. Hopefully Andrea will get me the ones she took soon. It was so freakin hot out that day so we only took a few pictures!

He kept making funny faces because it was so bright out!

Classic, this is our Christmas Card picture!!! Lol.

It was a very busy and fun weekend, thank you to my in laws for helping us out with Jonah's party so much. They always have great idea's for party's and all the kids LOVE going to there house!

Cars

This morning Joe was flipping through the channels and came across NASCAR and Jonah went crazy. He kept yelling cars cars (When he says cars it sounds like he has a Boston accent which my grandma loves) at the TV screen and was glued to the TV for at least 15 minutes. He is soooooo obsessed with cars, it is pretty funny.

Finally

This kitchen set has been sitting in a box in our office for at least 3 months. I had opened the box awhile back to put it together but when I was looking at the directions it looked way to complicated. So I waited for Joe to put it together. Finally yesterday he was sick of stepping over it and sat down and put it together pretty fast. Jonah loves it, when I got home from work yesterday the sink was filled with his cars. I think that I am going to paint the pink part green so that it doesn't look to girly.

Jonah's Grandma Sue found this new in the box at Goodwill for only $30. I was planning on buying him one and the cheapest I found one on eBay for was like $130. So that was a pretty awesome buy. We were afraid that there would be pieces missing but only two dowels that hold up a shelf were broken and Joe can make some new ones for it.

Jonah loves playing in the little kitchen at his grandmas house so hopefully this will provide him with some entertainment at home.

Someone was not in the mood to have his picture taken this morning. He has loved playing with it so far and it is pretty sturdy so I don't have to worry about him climbing all over it, lol.

Jonah's Room!

So I was very excited when we moved and Jonah got his own room. I was excited for him to have a place to sprawl out and play with his toys and us not having to step over everything all day long. Well he hasn't really wanted to play in there, he always goes in and gets his toys and either plays in the living room or our bedroom. Now he isn't playing in those rooms because that is where we are, he just plays in either one no matter where we are at. Today though he was being really quiet so I went to look for him and he was actually playing in his bedroom. He stayed in there and played for over an hour.

He was such a good boy all day today, helping me out. When I finished putting laundry away he grabbed the laundry basket and went and put it exactly where it goes in the bathroom. Also when I was putting clothes away he went in the bathroom and sat on the toilet seat for a second (fully clothed) and then hopped off and flushed the toilet and walked out of the bathroom. Cracked me up. Maybe this means he is ready to get potty trained.

Sundays

After church on Sundays we like to hang out with either of our families. This week we spent time with my family and Jonah loves playing with his aunt and uncles. Today he spent most of his day playing with my youngest sister Rebekah. I was so happy to see this because when he was born she was afraid that he would only want to play with the boys. Poor thing doesn't have any girls near her age in our family. They played so good together all day and she was a huge help to me and Joe by keeping him out of trouble. He even started saying Beka. (This is a horrible picture of them but the only one I got.)

In the mornings Jonah likes to lay in our bed and watch Disney's Playhouse while I am getting ready for work. It is so cute to see him all tucked in next to Joe. His favorite show right now is Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse, and our LEAST favorite is Special Agent Oso which is completely annoying.
